Farewell Aussie Overlanders – Today is your ‘One Day’

Today we bid farewell to our awesome friends the Aussie Overlanders who also driving from Sydney to London. It’s so exciting that they’re finally getting their trip underway and the ‘One Day’ that we’re all dreaming of has finally arrived for them. We only met 6months ago, but in that time have become great buddies, supporting each other on the roller-coaster ride of planning and preparing for a trip like this. Sydney was certainly looking her best for their departure – the sun was shining and the view from McMahons Point is just incredible looking back at the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House – the first landmark of many on this trip! The Troopy was looking unreal, the amount of work these guys have done over the past few months has completely transformed a tired-old troopy into a 5* overlanding machine – pop top sleeping area, full Drifta fit out, Blistein suspension, ECB Bullbar, VRS Winch – you name it, it’s got it – not to mention Kirsty’s amazing curtains and cushion covers 🙂
It’s made us feel even more excited about our trip – although nervous about the amount of work we still have to do! Kylie is still at Techno Automotive getting the last of her work done – then she’s off to Tint-A-Car to get the tinted security film applied. Hopefully we’ll have her back in time for Easter so we can complete the finishing touches and begin the 3D puzzle that is trying to pack everything. Can’t believe our ‘One Day’ is only 2 weeks away!!!
In the meantime Gaz & Kirsty, we wish you all the best on your trip – can’t wait to hear about all your stories and hoping so much that our paths cross at some point between here and London!
All the best for your trip home. Many thanks for sharing the adventure with us. DON’T FORGET TO KEEP YOUR TANK FULL.
